Vinci Games (YC S22) is a Y Combinator–backed VR studio building the next generation of multiplayer VR experiences. Our latest title, Ruffnauts, is one the fastest-growing free-to-play release of 2025 on Meta Quest, combining chaotic creature catching, exploration, and Gorilla Tag–style locomotion into a groundbreaking social VR adventure.

We’re hiring our first dedicated QA Tester & Community Relations Specialist for a 3-month contract (with potential extension). This is a mission-critical role: you’ll not only be responsible for catching bugs and ensuring build quality, but also for shaping the entire QA pipeline that powers one of the fastest-growing VR games in the world.

What You’ll Do

Quality Assurance (Primary Focus)

  • Establish and own Ruffnauts’ QA workflow, building the foundation for how we test, validate, and ship new builds.
  • Independently execute and document test cases across Quest builds, with a special focus on multiplayer interactions, physics quirks, and Gorilla Tag–style locomotion.
  • Identify, reproduce, and log bugs with detailed repro steps, severity levels, and screenshots/video evidence using Jira.
  • Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and producers to ensure the most critical bugs are prioritized and fixed quickly.
  • Run structured playtests with our Discord community (20–100 testers), collect feedback, and transform player reports into actionable QA insights.
  • Act as the “gatekeeper” for every build release, ensuring gameplay, performance, and stability meet internal quality standards before going live.

Community Relations

  • Serve as the bridge between players and developers, relaying bug reports, patch updates, and gameplay improvements.
  • Maintain an engaging and positive community presence, supporting testers in Discord, answering questions, and communicating progress.
  • Craft clear, player-friendly patch notes and share them with the community after each update.

What Success Looks Like

  • Reduced regressions and faster turnaround times between bug discovery and fix verification.
  • Clear, consistent QA coverage across multiplayer sessions and edge-case locomotion scenarios.
  • Engaged, motivated playtest community that feels heard and actively contributes to game quality.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years QA experience in VR or multiplayer games.
  • Deep familiarity with Gorilla Tag–style movement games (e.g., Gorilla Tag, Yeeps, Animal Company) and their unique locomotion quirks.
  • Unquestionable passion for VR — you actively play, follow, and think about VR games and communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to hunt down and reproduce complex bugs and write clear, actionable bug reports.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, VR testing best practices, and game development lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience with Asana (preferred) or similar bug-tracking tools.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of writing both precise developer reports and engaging community updates.

Why Join Vinci Games?

  • Be the first QA owner on a breakout VR title, with the chance to shape quality standards from the ground up.
  • Join a fast-moving indie team where your contributions have immediate impact.
  • Work on the fastest growing VR release of 2025, trusted by thousands of players already.
  • Opportunity to extend or grow into a larger QA/community role.

Contract Details

  • Type: 3-month contract with potential extension
  • Hours: Part-time, remote, flexible
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
