<strong><strong>Waldorf School of the Peninsula</strong></strong> (Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating it's 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing classroom presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Provide classroom supervision and support based on plans left by the lead teacher </li><li>Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment </li><li>Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and community agreements </li><li>Support students’ social-emotional well-being throughout the day </li><li>Communicate effectively with faculty and administrative staff </li><li>Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications And Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree</li><li>Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting Waldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education </li><li>Strong classroom management and communication skills </li><li>Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a steady, grounded presence </li><li>On-call, part-time/as-needed basis</li><li>Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice </li><li>Must pass a background check and TB assessment </li><li>Opportunities to substitute in Early Childhood, Grades 1–8, and High School<br><br></li></ul><strong>Compensation<br><br></strong>The hourly range for this position is $29 - $30 an hour based on qualifications and experience.<br><br>We’re an equal opportunity employer.
