POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide specialized support to Fleet Maintenance relating to assigned equipment types, components, systems or process in order to promote best repair practices and improved equipment reliability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Provide specialized fleet maintenance support to enable technology development and execution
  2. Drive alignment of the prioritization and execution of Fleet Maintenance projects, fiscal year and technology enablement projects and equipment maintenance repair programs
  3. Monitor, identify, troubleshoot and/or implement solutions for repair, maintenance and/or warranty activities for an assigned equipment type(s), component(s) or system(s)
  4. Ensure maintenance “best practices” are documented, well-communicated and followed by FedEx Freight employees and outside vendors
  5. Work with applicable Fleet Maintenance personnel to implement recommended strategies to optimize equipment specifications and maintenance practices to improve equipment reliability
  6. Prepare and provide reports to applicable leadership regarding status of repair work, trends, campaigns and other relevant data
  7. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support equipment reliability projects and Fleet Maintenance system upgrades needed to carry out departmental goals
  8. Work with applicable Fleet Maintenance personnel and other internal functional groups to create and manage equipment profiles, maintenance schedules and Fleet Maintenance system documentation for assigned equipment types
  9. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  10. Perform other assignments (or duties) as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience plus two (2) years Fleet Maintenance, Maintenance Administration or related experience
  • FedEx Freight experience, preferred
  • Good time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient in the use of Fleet Maintenance Management System
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
