<strong>SUMMARY: </strong>The Process Operator plays a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant processes. Responsibilities include overseeing the startup, operation, and shutdown of assigned units in the Renewable Diesel Refinery, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on safety and teamwork, willing to contribute to the ongoing success of our renewable fuel production.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Support and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HS&E) policies and procedures, addressing any concerns promptly and adhering to safety procedures for equipment and chemical handling.</li><li>Operate and monitor various process controls and machinery, making adjustments as necessary to ensure the plant runs within performance limits and meets product quality standards.</li><li>Troubleshoot operating issues and work with the team to implement solutions, reporting any problems or performance changes to management.</li><li>Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency, safety, and quality standards, aligning with corporate and plant goals.</li><li>Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly by performing routine checks and coordinating minor repairs and preventative maintenance with the maintenance team.</li><li>Maintain accurate records and logs of activities, operating conditions, and any changes in process/equipment performance.</li><li>Participate in daily performance reporting (shift reporting) and utilize provided tools to monitor operational metrics (RDS).</li><li>Collaborate with other operators and supervisors as directed to cross-train in various plant units.</li><li>Recognize the need for and submit work orders; follow up with the maintenance team to ensure equipment is being addressed promptly.</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving overall plant efficiency and sustainability goals.</li><li>Actively participate in shift change meetings, providing information on activities, concerns, and any outstanding issues to ensure the oncoming shift is fully informed and prepared.</li><li>Take samples of the product from various stages of the process at designated intervals, ensuring samples are properly collected, documented, and analyzed to maintain product quality and process control.</li><li> Demonstrate professionalism and ethical conduct in all interactions, promoting a respectful and innovative work environment.</li><li>Ensure that work areas are kept clean and free of clutter to maintain safety, efficiency, and well-organized workspaces throughout the plant.<br><br></li></ul><strong>REQUIREMENTS: </strong>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions as listed below.<br><br><strong>Required<br><br></strong><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li><li>Ability to effectively communicate in meetings with all levels of plant personnel.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and aptitude for sustained focus required.</li><li>Ability to lead by example and support others in their professional development, especially in high-performance or safety-critical environments.</li><li>Ability to read and write clear, accurate and concise reports using standard Microsoft Office programs.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Preferred<br><br></strong><ul><li>Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, especially in a process control or operator capacity.</li><li>Certifications in process operations, equipment maintenance, or safety-related fields (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Materials Handling) are highly desirable.</li><li>Familiar with product quality program, for example BQ-900, ISO-900, HACCP.</li><li>Associate degree in process technology.</li><li>Basic mechanical skills and understanding of plant equipment to perform routine checks, troubleshoot issues, and assist with minor repairs and preventative maintenance preferred<br><br></li></ul><strong>WORK ENVIRONMENT: </strong>Work environment is based in the control room of a manufacturing plant, with frequent mobility through all areas of production. This position will be exposed to all outside climate conditions. The noise level varies widely within different areas of production.<br><br><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS: </strong>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to move from place to place to all areas of production. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms. Must be able to wear all safety and production related equipment.<br><br><strong>NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:</strong> Thursday to Wednesday, 12-hour shifts. Day shift: 6 AM to 6 PM. Night shift: 6 PM to 6 AM.
