Job Description

Lionbridge is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Online Caption Writing Assistant to join our remote team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate, synchronized, and culturally appropriate captions and subtitles for a variety of multimedia content. You will play a crucial part in making content accessible and engaging for global audiences, ensuring clarity and adherence to specific client guidelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Transcribe audio and video content accurately into written text.
  • Create precise, well-timed, and culturally appropriate captions and subtitles for diverse media.
  • Ensure proper synchronization of captions with on-screen actions, dialogue, and sound effects.
  • Adhere strictly to client-specific style guides, quality standards, and accessibility guidelines.
  • Review and edit existing captions for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall consistency.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize specialized captioning software and tools efficiently (training will be provided if necessary).
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, quality assurance teams, and other captioning professionals.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • High attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency with various captioning software (e.g., Amara, Subtitle Edit) or a strong willingness to learn quickly.

  • Basic understanding of accessibility guidelines for captions and subtitles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of an additional language, particularly Spanish, is a significant advantage.
