Candidates must submit a separate application for each level that they are interested in.</strong></strong><br> <strong>Typical Tasks</strong><br> <br><ul> <li>Provides services to patrons such as evaluating needs, assisting in locating books and materials, and responding to inquiries;<br> <li>Offers reader advisory services;<br> <li>Informs patrons about library facilities, policies and procedures;<br> <li>Participates in identifying the needs of the library community;<br> <li>Participates in evaluating current collection and selecting and discarding library materials, as well as ordering materials within prescribed budget;<br> <li>Develops subject expertise;<br> <li>Learns sources of information and locates specific information;<br> <li>Answers reference questions; refers questions requiring advanced knowledge to a Librarian II or Supervising Librarian;<br> <li>Develops specialized library programs for specific patron groups;<br> <li>Speaks to school and community groups regarding library programs and resources;<br> <li>May conduct book talks and story times and perform puppet shows;<br> <li>Designs displays and exhibits;<br> <li>Participates in organizing the physical interior of the library;<br> <li>Compiles bibliographies, book lists and other resource lists;<br> <li>Prepares reports or creates content for library blogs or website;<br> <li>Provides outreach services to communities;<br> <li>Familiarizes and trains library patrons in the use of digital materials;
