Key Responsibilities

As an IT Manager at JET Blue Airlines, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Own the relationship with the business's functional area leaders and deliver IT solutions to support business operations
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver an IT strategy and annual plan that aligns with business capabilities
  • Manage a portfolio of applications/solutions from conception to retirement
  • Develop, maintain, and report on a financial and resource plan for your area of responsibility
  • Ensure that IT and allocated specialty unit relationships are maintained, with clear and timely requirements recognized and agreed-upon service levels
  • Act as the escalation point for functional support to assigned portfolio applications, with continuous availability
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing team to negotiate Crewmember agreements and service level agreements that meet specialty units' requirements and expectations
  • Manage production and non-production environments through release and change management processes
  • Ensure that work practices are in accordance with all audits, security, and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies
  • Work with other IT Managers to ensure alignment and drive efficiencies, with continued accountability for product and services delivery within assigned specialty units and across IT
  • Provide direct or indirect supervision of delivery teams for appropriate portfolio initiatives
  • Play a significant role in driving and mentoring direct and indirect Crewmembers to support the commitment, growth, and development of a succession plan for the IT department
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your style to various audiences
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and quickly resolve issues
  • Excellent critical thinking and structured thinking skills
  • Knowledge of project management (PMBOK) and key training
  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio)
  • Availability for moderate overnight travel (up to 20%)
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
