Director Sales Execution

adidas - Portland, OR

PURPOSE

This is a key in-house position to lead the execution the Global wholesale strategic business plan, North America specific strategies with a focus on the overall wholesale channel, (including all its vertical and horizontal functions), oversee the organization's Initiative portfolio and manage its implementation in partnership with market cross functional partners, global wholesale and our customers.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key initiative execution

• Manage team and directly lead the execution of key cross-functional initiatives that help achieve the 5-year North America Wholesale strategic objectives. This includes working with cross functional stakeholders to set the project scope, create solutions, develop the plan, and implement into the organization,
• Direct and own individual initiative execution & monitoring to ensure timely progress on deliverables, in line with expectations.

• Direct, prepare and be ready to deliver senior stakeholder communication (including VP/ SVP level) and secure buy-in for initiative direction and deliverables

Portfolio oversight & cross functional coordination

• Lead the oversight of wholesale initiative portfolio, building tracking mechanisms and infrastructure to ensure best in class monitoring
• Lead the delivery of regular updates to senior leadership acting as subject matter expert, gathering feedback and following back with individual experts & Project Leaders.
• Liaise with partners across Business Development, Global wholesale & customers (where needed) to ensure appropriate prioritization of initiatives & timely delivery .

People Management

• Hire and mentor top-class talent with objective to accelerate their career and development within a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure well-being, genuine care and build a culture where people can thrive while managing team's performance.

Other key additional responsibilities

• Perform business and operational analyses to support senior management in fact-based decision making where required.
• Create presentation proposals including the story line, slideshow preparation, speaking notes, and research as required.
• Own preparation for Sales Execution related meetings with duties including agenda preparation, presentation and document creation, and collecting and organizing relevant information from necessary parties.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Advanced PowerPoint, Excel and presentation skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Very strong strategic mindset & project management abilities
• Excellence in people management & building high performing teams.
• Ability to thrive and move at fast pace in a dynamic & everchanging environment with often competing priorities and little information available.
• Capacity to work collaboratively and effectively with a wide range of people (C suite to apprentices), build relationships, be diplomatic, and exhibit sensitivity to and understanding of the dynamics of a complex organization
• Able to synthesize complex and diverse data to formulate actionable business cases and recommendations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level

QUALIFICATIONS

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience / MBA preferred
• Showcase of progressive work experience
• Previous experience within commercial channel in the sporting goods industry preferred
• Experience in project management and/or strategy execution required
• People management experience preferred
